Your cases have become increasingly complex with the advent of digital media. It is more likely that your suspect will be in possession of an advanced cellular device, not even owning a traditional personal computer. It is not uncommon for your cellular software to download thousands of pages of data from an advanced device.

Perhaps you are assigned to the gang unit or narcotics. Multiple cellular devices are seized at once or over a period of time from members of the target group. Instead of spending hours penciling out relationships between the members of the target group, you can transform this data to intelligence in seconds.

You want that data, you need that data. The problem is that the data can often be overwhelming. With this in mind, HTCI Labs has developed the DART (Data Analysis Reporting Tool) software program that allows you to take control of the digital media in your cases.

Think of how much you have spent on all of your extraction tools, and how much extra functionality the DART software tool will add to them. The DART tool will cost just a fraction of what you paid for those tools, and will give you an incredible amount of functionality that you have never had before. By being able to combine your multi-vendor reports into one tool, you will be able to save resources, time, and money. Not only that, but our tool has analytic tools the competitors charge thousands more to have!

Download a free demo today and find out how DART can save you both TIME and MONEY!

DART has an available Cellphone Companion Kit too! The cellphone companion kit contains everything the mobile phone examiner needs in a convenient carrying pouch. With cellphone analysis becoming increasingly important it is imperative that you have the proper tools at your disposal. The cellphone companion kit is a heavy duty canvas bag that includes pockets and holders for all your cellphone analysis tools. There is also a convenient cable pouch attached that will allow you to store your most used cables for convenience. At only $219 it is a valuable add-on for the investigator on the go! (and a savings of $10 over purchasing separately!) Click here for more information.

Using DART, thousands of pages of data can be quickly transformed to intelligence that you use to prove your case!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: DART keeps asking me for a repository database. Where is this?
A: When DART is installed on a system that has not had the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package installed, the error will happen. Download and install the package from the Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Q: When DART asks me for a repository database, and I choose a location, I get a SQL Lite error.
A: When DART is installed for the first time, there is a dialog box that asks you to choose a repository. This is a folder that DART creates all of its necessary databases in and will store the reports and other analysis data in there. To set the repository for the first time, you choose Set New Location and create or locate a folder to place the data into. DART will do the rest.

Q: DART will not start on my system- why not?
A: DART requires administrative privileges, and if you have UAC enabled on your Vista or Windows 7/8 system, you will need to choose “Run as Administrator” and DART will should start normally.

Q: My Smart Card reader does not show up. It continuously asks for a driver to be installed.
A: Typically this happens when a USB Token Device Holder gets installed on the system that conflicts with the smart card reader. Uninstalling these will generally fix the issue. To uninstall the USB Token Holder, go into the Device Manager on your system and look for the icon for Smart card readers. Find the USB Token Holders and click it and choose “Uninstall”. Reboot your system, and the reader should show normally.

Q: DART will not allow me to use my serial number on another system, how can I run DART on a different system?
A: DART will only run on one system at a time. If you need an additional serial number, you can contact the Forensic Store for the purchase of an additional license. If you need to just move DART to another machine, you can contact support@gohtci.com and request that the serial number be reset for another system. That can be handled within 24 hours of the request..

Q: Will DART run on my Mac?
A: DART will run on a Windows virtual machine on Mac as long as it is running .NET 4.0 — some emulators are running 4.5 but 4.0 will also need to be installed for DART to run.

Q: DART will not allow me to import a physical extraction, why?
A: DART was designed for logical extractions only, since it will not do any data recovery or physical file processing. It will only process the logical information from the phone.

Q: DART will not allow me to import a CSV based extraction, why?
A: DART will only supprt XML format for logical extractoins from Cellebrite, XRY, Susteen, Oxygen, AFLogical, Lantern, and Android.

DART enabled me to gather and show the case evidence quickly and easily on screen in minutes. Doing this by hand would have taken days. To try out DART, I used it to run reports on a few cell phones we had picked up from different drug arrests. After examining them, I found that each of the 3 phones called a common number. From this, I called narcotics and we found one of the biggest distributers in the area. I would have never thought these cell phones were connected before using DART.

We have used it on just single phones up to this point and it works well. I am hoping to use it on multiple phones and use some of the more advanced features soon.

High Tech Crime Institute’s Data Analysis Reporting Tool (DART) has provided a low cost, multifaceted analytical solution for investigations involving multiple mobile devices. Or, in cases that involve the analysis of multiple devices seized over a period of time. DART incorporates the tools most useful in correlating user activity through call history, contact lists, geo-location data, and other activity that had previously required multiple applications to complete. The utilitarian nature of DART in importing various file formats allows the investigator to use the most thorough method available to access the mobile device and report the stored information, removing the ‘tool-centric’ add-on costs provided by some commercial tool sets. DART is economically priced and should be considered a required tool within any mobile device investigator’s tool kit.

I have been involved in the digital forensics field for over 10 years and I appreciate the continued efforts of HTCI to deliver cost effective products that work well. I am currently involved in assisting law enforcement with serious criminal cases involving multiple, related cell phones. DART has proven very effective at compiling and analyzing the relationships between multiple phones in a case, thereby allowing the case investigator to better and more quickly review the evidence.

I love DART and have used it several times recently, including on a double homicide investigation we recently worked on. ART is amazing and the speed in which it extracts is fabulous.
